Jackson K-Mart Seeks Energy Star Honors
K-Mart in Jackson, Wyoming is one of five buildings in the state participating in the Environmental Protection Agency’s 2012 Energy Star National Building Competition. This year, there is a record 3200 buildings across the country competing for the best improvements in energy efficiency, lower utility costs and protection of health and the environment. The EPA points out that about 20% of the nation’s energy use and greenhouse gas emissions are linked to commercial buildings throughout the US. The winner along with top finalists in each building category with the largest percentage reduction in energy use in 2012 as compared to 2011 will be recognized in April 2013.
