A traffic stop on Teton Pass last year has yielded a windfall for Jackson Hole law enforcement.  The Teton County Sheriff’s Office last week was presented with a check from the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office for $6,972.00 in forfeiture funds. Those funds resulted from an October 26th traffic stop on Teton Pass which in which deputies seized nearly $34,000.00 in U.S. currency and arrested the driver for possession of marijuana.  With the assistance of the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, it was determined that a substantial amount of the seized money were proceeds from marijuana trafficking.  Since this investigation was launched  by the Teton County Sheriff’s Office, a portion of the seized funds were returned to the sheriff’s office to be used for future illegal drug investigations.
