County Adopts Snake River Management Plan

???????????????????????????????The Teton County Commission has approved the proposed Snake River Management Plan following nearly two years of public hearings on the matter. The new plan will require county permitting for all commercial activity on the river between Moose and Hoback Junction beginning next summer. Further, the plan requires all commercial outfitters to be certified, including such criteria as professional qualifications, proof of insurance, and historical use on the Snake River. All certified outfitters will be considered for pre-season allocations per the plan. Outfitters would also be able to utilize permits from the in-season “pool” designed to allow for daily flexibility and to accommodate busy days and peaks throughout the season. The commission plans to consider a timeline for the permitting process at its December 29th meeting.
