An unprecedented vertical green house business with a social mission is to break ground in Jackson this week. Vertical Harvest will be a three-story, 13,500 square-foot hydroponic green house located adjacent the town’s parking garage on Millward Street and will operate year round to sell, fresh, locally grown produce to the Jackson Hole community through multiple venues. Furthermore, says Spokesperson Anna Olson, Vertical Harvest will provide inclusive employment year round for citizens with disabilities and be a self sufficient for profit business. The Friday groundbreaking is expected to attract a sizable crowd including Governor Matt Mead and Wyoming Business Council Chair Shawn Reese. The facility is expected to be open by next fall.
