Funding Plan Takes Shape For Grove

TCHA_logo-sidebarAfter voting to move the project forward earlier in the day, County Commissioners voted for a resolution that approves a broad financing model to pay for Grove Phase 2. The plan would use existing housing fee-in-lieu funds of roughly 500 thousand dollars and commit the fee-in-lieu receipts for the next two years estimated at 700,000 dollars.

Commissioners also tentatively committed 1.2 million dollars from the general fund.

Mark Newcomb proposed the 2-year fee-in-lieu timeline so as not to commit future commissions.

Now the housing authority will bring back different scenarios of housing categories to help find the right match for the funding available.

Newcomb stressed that categories 4 and above would be a significant benefit to the community that is priced out of the market.

The vote was 3-2 will Vogelheim and Allen voting no.
