Social Gathering to Capture Hospital History

St. John’s Medical Center will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2016. The hospital will recognize this milestone by creating a written and visual collection of stories of healthcare in Jackson Hole. The process of gathering stories will begin with a social event on Thursday, June 4, from 11 am to noon at the Senior Center. Anyone interested in sharing stories, memorabilia, or photographs about the history of St. John’s Medical Center and local healthcare is welcome to attend.

“When we hear stories about the early days in the hospital’s history, it warms our hearts to remember how hard this community has worked to help bring St. John’s Medical Center to where we are today,” said director of community relations Karen Connelly. “We don’t want the stories of patients, doctors, nurses and early hospital leaders to be lost. We want to share them so the legacy of St. John’s and the community lives on.”

Staff from St. John’s and historian and filmmaker Charlie Craighead will be available to help attendees brainstorm and share recollections.

As is customary, the Senior Center (located at 830 E. Hansen) will serve lunch at noon.
