The new budget for the Town of Jackson is being reviewed on Monday and the Town is expected to spend over $4.5 million to permanently stabilize the hillside. Officials have requested assistance from the Wyoming Department of Transportation, the State Land and Investment Board, and Teton County to help fund this stabilization effort. The Town is also negotiating with the affected property owners to help fund part of the stabilization. Finally, this budget recommends “borrowing” a million dollars from utility funds. These loans will be repaid from the Capital Projects Fund over a 20-year period.
