The Jackson Town Council is accepting letters of application from members of the community wishing to serve on the Board of Examiners. Members of the Board of Examiners shall be residents of the Town of Jackson or Teton County, Wyoming. Three seats are up for appointment for terms ending July, 2018. The Town Council also has the ability to appoint two additional members to this board at their discretion for a total of nine members. The Board of Examiners assists with the Contractor Licensing program. The Board is made up of tradespeople from the mechanical, plumbing, electrical and building trades or others who have knowledge of such issues. The Board of Examiners reviews the qualifications of applicants licensed in other jurisdictions or applicants who have not passed the contractors license exam as administered by the Wyoming Association of Municipalities (WAM) to determine an applicant’s eligibility to obtain a license to perform work within the Town of Jackson. The Board of Examiners also serves as the Board of Appeals as required by the building code, in order to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions, or determinations made by the building official relative to the application and interpretation of the building code.
