Memorial Tennis Tourny to Benefit SJHF Diabetes Fund

The 15th Annual Steve Winograd Memorial Diabetes Tennis Tournament will be held at Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club Friday, August 12 through Sunday, August 14, 2016. The event benefits the St. John’s Hospital Foundation Diabetes Fund.

“I’m looking forward to being a part of the event this year,” said Hayley Miller, MD, who specializes in internal medicine, diabetes, and metabolism at St. John’s. “The impact that the tournament has on the Diabetes Fund is significant. We depend on the generosity of our community to run many of the programs that St. John’s offers for people who are living with diabetes.”

The closing banquet, open to the public, will be held at the Club on Sunday at 6:00 pm to celebrate the tournament and promote awareness of diabetes in our community. The evening includes a live and silent auction and guest speaker, Dr. Hayley Miller. Dinner tickets are included for players and are $50 for guests. They may be reserved online.

The Steve Winograd Memorial Tennis Tournament, founded by Kolsky, has raised over $300,000 for St. John’s Diabetes Education program, a certified program of the American Diabetes Association. These funds help send children to diabetes summer camps, provide financial assistance to patients, and support the purchase of medical equipment. The Diabetes Education program reduces the number of hospital admissions and helps prevent complications from diabetes, including heart disease, kidney disease, and blindness. St. John’s Diabetes Education staff also provide community education to help lower the incidence of diabetes in Teton County.
