The Jackson Town Council, last night, re-adopted Character District 2 – Town Commercial Core zoning removing the Short Term Rental Workforce Housing Incentive Tool
Based upon Council direction at the October 3, 2016 Town Council meeting staff prepared nine ordinances that would readopt Character District 2 – Town Commercial Core zoning without the provision to allow up to 100,000 square feet of short term rentals in the Downtown Core zoning district as a provision of the Workforce Housing Floor Area Bonus.
The Council adopted these ordinances on First reading at the last night’s meeting, second reading would be scheduled for November 7, 2016 and third and final reading would be scheduled November 21, 2016. Following adoption of final reading these new zoning regulations would take effect.
Planning staff recommended this option as a way to move forward with the bulk Commercial Core zoning regulations while eliminating the seemingly most contentious portion of the previously adopted regulations that were subject to the referendum vote.
The Vote was 4-1.
