Tourism Benefits All Wyoming Residents

by Jackson Hole Radio News

As the state observes National Travel and Tourism Week, Wyoming Office of Tourism’s executive director Diane Shober points out that even if a state resident is not directly involved in the tourism industry, all Wyoming residents benefit from the industry through the tax revenue derived from it.

Shober points out that visitor spending directly affected Wyoming’s economy by generating $196-million in local and state tax revenues in 2018. Furthermore, statistics indicate each Wyoming household would pay $842 more in taxes without the tax revenue generated by the travel and tourism industry.
