The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration says that three national parks including Yellowstone will receive $123.5-million in grants as part of the Nationally Significant Federal Lands and Tribal Projects Program. The National Park Service will use the funding to reconstruct and upgrade several miles of road near the North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. National Park Service Deputy Director P. Daniel Smith explains that the grants will help modernize our aging transportation infrastructure, address a significant amount of our maintenance backlog, and improve overall visitor experience in the three parks.
