WYDOT Begins 89 Work Today

The Wyoming Department of Transportation will be milling and paving portions of South Highway 89 in isolated areas on the Snake River South project section, the large bumps in the road near the Munger Mountain area, as well as a few more areas between Horse Creek and Hoback Junction. That work is to begin today. The work involves milling down bumps and repaving the affected area. However, these areas will be reconstructed in the next couple of years on the subsequent Jackson South projects.   In the meantime, WYDOT determined that these areas needed some temporary repair prior to winter for public safety and plowing. Motorists in the area can expect delays from Hoback Junction to High School road of up to 20 minutes outside the commuter hours of 6:00 am until 8:00 am and 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm.  Traffic will be restricted to one-way, alternating traffic while crews work in the closed lane. Work should take roughly 2-3 days.
