Wyoming Game and Fish is planning another round of bighorn sheep captures with the University of Wyoming Sunday. Spokesperson Alyson Courtemanche explains the capture is part of a study investigating nutrition, disease, and lamb survival in the Jackson Herd.
As in previous years, Game and Fish will be capturing sheep using a helicopter in the Gros Ventre drainage and foothills east of the Elk Refuge on Bridger Teton National Forest, and will be basing out of the Jackson WGFD office.
Courtemanche says a different helicopter than previously seen on this assignment will be used this time and can be identified by its color scheme of black and grey. At this time, Game and Fish is still working on finalizing the locations of the processing areas.
