The Wyoming Department of Health says the number of flu cases in the cowboy state are ramping up. Consequently, the Department of Health wants residents to do what they can to avoid becoming ill with influenza or spreading it to others.
Epidemiologist Reggie McClinton says Wyoming’s overall flu activity is still at a relatively low level, but reports are showing significant increases in several local areas. Key to combating the flu is to get your flu vaccine as soon as possible if you haven’t done so already.
State Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harris adds, “Staying home from work, school, daycare and errands when you are ill is key.” She urges covering your mouth and nose with your sleeve or a tissue when you sneeze and cough, and frequently washing your hands throughout the season.
