Victor Nixes 4th of July Festivities

by Jackson Hole Radio News

The City of Victor has announced that their 2020 4th of July events have been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. After considering the event size, the density of the crowd, and there not being an effective way to reduce attendance so that physical distancing could be achieved, the Victor City Council decided to cancel this year’s event. Victor’s annual 4th of July celebration normally includes a fun run, flag ceremony, community breakfast and lunch, craft fair, and parade hosted by the City in conjunction with local non-profits. These festivities are attended by thousands of spectators each year. Victor Mayor Frohlich said, “Sadly, that makes the risk for community transmission too high.” Frohlich says the town is already looking forward to next year’s 4th of July.
