The Post 43 Giants continued to pull off their signature miraculous come-from-behind victories over the weekend… except when they couldn’t. The Cody Cubs got the better of the Giants Friday afternoon as Aaron Moya pitched well but Cody’s Grady McCarten was that much better. A 7-2 loss there means Jackson has yet to beat the Cubs in 3 tries this season. The late game Friday went better for Jackson. The cardiac kids trailed the Madison Bobcats by four runs for most of the game until an explosive 5-run 5th that helped the Giants to a 10-7 win. It was off to Rock Springs Saturday where Parker Bleggi pitched a 4-hit shutout gem for a 1-0 win, Jackson waiting until the final inning to scratch across the game’s sole run on a game-winning RBI single from Grant Parkin. The Giants still needed a heart-stopping finish as Mason Wright gunned down a tagging runner at home for the double play to seal the win. The final two games with Rock Springs saw teams trade lopsided scores. Jackson pummeled Rock Springs 12-3 Saturday afternoon but Rock Springs got revenge with a 12-2 win over Jackson Sunday morning. The Giants are now 17-24 on the season with a doubleheader against Pocatello scheduled for this Thursday.
