Airport Numbers Way Down

Travel through the Jackson Hole Airport continued its downward slide through July as the Coronavirus continues to take its toll on travel. According to the monthly report to the Jackson Hole Airport Board, July saw a 51% decline in passenger enplanements and a 46% decline in those arriving at the airport. That brings the total decline in air travel here right around 45%.  Airlines provided 440 flights through the valley last month compared with 651 during July of 2019. So far this year, 153,535 people have caught flights out of Jackson Hole while 149,464 people arrived here by air. Globally, business analysts say the picture remains bleak for airlines despite a slow, but steady growth in passenger counts from mid-April when the industry hit a low of just over 87,000 passengers a day.
