Emergency responders climbed the stairs of the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001 as they sought to save lives and to make sure no one was left behind. Today, Jackson Hole emergency responders are climbing Snow King Mountain to remember that selfless act of courage. Residents and visitors are encouraged to join Jackson Hole Fire/EMS any time between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm to hike Snow King and pay tribute to the 412 emergency workers who gave their lives on 9/11. Participants are urged to stop by Phill Baux Park to receive a badge with the pictures and names of all first responders who lost their lives on 9/11. They should then wear one of the badges to honor the first responders as they climb Snow King. Additionally, this year, Jackson Hole Fire/EMS is climbing Snow King not only in memory the lives lost on 9/11, but to show support to our community through Old Bill’s as well.
