The sustained high levels of daily new COVID-19 cases in Teton County has overwhelmed the current capacity of the health department case investigation and contact tracing team. However, this does not mean that the efforts have ceased. Teton County, Wyoming residents who test positive for COVID-19 will still receive a call from one of the case investigators. Due to the number of cases, however, these calls may be delayed. Case investigators will conduct a phone interview with all positive cases and send them isolation orders. Due to the overwhelming number of new cases each day, it is necessary to prioritize calls to certain identified close contacts. The highest priority tiers have been set to include vulnerable populations and those who work with vulnerable populations and essential workers. Cases are being asked to notify all of their other close contacts who will not be receiving calls from the Health Department. Teton County Health Department will continue to work with schools, childcare facilities, and businesses to assist with contact tracing and case investigation where possible.
