Teton County Idaho Roads Lower Speeds

The Teton County, Idaho Sheriff’s Department is alerting motorists to be aware of the changed speed limit signs on Idaho Highway 33 from Tetonia to Newdale. They will now be 55 mph instead of 65 mph, and commercial trucks will be 30 mph until further notice.

The speed limit change is precipitated by deteriorating roadway conditions created by the repeated freezing and thawing on the road over the winter. The posted speed limit on the four-mile stretch of the highway from Teton to Newdale in Madison County has been reduced from 60 mph to 45 mph as well.

The speed limit on Idaho 32 between Ashton the intersection with Idaho 33 has also been dropped to 55 mph. Cracks and potholes in the highway are to be repaired as soon as weather permits, but until then, the speeds have been dropped in the interest of safety.
