Fire danger continues to rise

Due to weather and fuel conditions, the fire danger in the Teton Interagency Fire area including Teton County, Bridger-Teton National Forest, Grand Teton National Park, The National Elk Refuge as well as Yellowstone National Park, and Sublette County to the south is considered very high in all areas and Stage 1 Fire Restrictions have been put into place throughout that area. Those restrictions ban open fires except in specified areas and smoking in most areas outside cars and buildings.

The Central Idaho Dispatch Zone has moved to extreme fire danger. In extreme fire danger, fires start and spread quickly and burn with high intensity, and small fires can quickly become large fires and exhibit extreme fire intensity, such as long-distance spotting and fire whirls.
