Small fire reported on forest

Yet another spot fire was reported yesterday on the Bridger Teton National Forest. The Spread Creek Fire is simply a spot fire located on a cut bank of Spread Creek on the Blackrock Ranger District. Two firefighters responded to scene, suppressing the smoldering fire with support from a local helicopter.

Meanwhile, the Wallace Fire east of Moran Junction remains at four acres as does the Mosquito Fire in the Mosquito Creek Drainage. Both of those fires are also undergoing full suppression. While the causes of these fires have still not been declared, it is believed they are the result of last Friday’s series of lightning storms that moved through the region.
