The forensic search has concluded in the Spread Creek dispersed camping area following the recovery of Gabrielle Petito’s body and investigators combing the area for more evidence in the case.
In a release Tuesday evening, the FBI stated that the area has now been reopened to the public. Still, the FBI is asking anyone who utilized the area between August 27th and 30th and may possibly had contact with Ms. Petito or her fiancé Brian Laundrie, to contact the FBI with that information. Investigation of the case is still very much continuing. At the time of her death, Petito went missing as she and her fiancé were traveling to a variety of national parks in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming while camping in their converted van along the way.
Her disappearance was reported by her mother on September 11th and searching focused on the Grand Teton National Park area until her body was found Sunday. Her death was ruled a murder and her fiance’ went missing after he had returned to Florida alone late last month.
