The Pass Creek Fire located near Merna northwest of Daniel Junction on Bridger Teton National Forest is currently contained within about 20 acres. The fire was first discovered about 3:00 pm Wednesday actively burning in sage and grasses. According to Teton Interagency Fire, local resources will continue to monitor the fire until it is out. Due to numerous falling snags, it is too dangerous to put firefighters into the interior of the fire to put it out. However, firefighters were able to construct line around the fire. All but local resources have been released from the incident. A storm moved over the fire area Saturday bringing rain and wind, causing hazardous snags to fall in and around the fire perimeter.
