An early morning fire severely damaged Big Hole Barbeque in Victor, Idaho Tuesday. According to Deputy Fire Chief Earle Giles, the fire gutted the kitchen and severely damaged the south side of the building. Meanwhile, the seating area of the restaurant sustained considerable smoke damage. Giles says it is not yet known what caused the fire, but there had been a small fire outside the building Monday evening confined to a refrigeration compressor. The fire department was alerted about 5:50 am Tuesday by numerous 911 calls about smoke in the area. Victor firefighters responded with two engines and an ambulance. Giles says the owners estimate it will be at least a couple months before repairs to the building can be made and the popular eatery can be reopened.
