Jackson Hole Mountain Resort opens Thursday

Ski Swap Cancelled

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has announced that it is launching the 2021/22 Season tomorrow. The winter season offers 137 days of skiing and riding through closing day on April 10th.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort President Mary Kate Buckley admits, “Mother Nature has been off to a slow start on the lower mountain.” But she adds, “With increased snowmaking capacity and a dedicated staff working around the clock, we are thrilled to open our lifts this Thursday.”

The resort will open the Teewinot Chairlift, Sweetwater Gondola to the mid-station, Après Vous Lift and the Solitude covered surface lift tomorrow. However, they caution early conditions exist and skiers should watch for unmarked obstacles.

The Aerial Tram will run for sightseeing and waffles service at Corbet’s Cabin from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Friday through Sunday, but no ski equipment is allowed, and masks are required in the Aerial Tram and inside buildings. Meanwhile, Grand Targhee Resort held its opening day yesterday.

Just like at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Targhee reports early season conditions will exist and there may be some unmarked obstacles. Snow King Mountain is slated to open December 4th.
