Precipitation in the Wyoming river basins has continued to increase through last week providing for optimism as the state has come off a particularly dry year.

According to the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Snake River Basin currently has a median accumulation of total precipitation amounting to 128% of normal with a water content equivalent of 122%.


The Wind River Basin now has a median of 131% of total precipitation with a water equivalency of 122%. In the Upper Green Basin, there is a median of 134% of normal with a snow-water equivalency of 121%. Medians and averages are calculated for the period 1981-2010.
