Weather sidelines in-person classes in Teton County

Teton County School District #1 students in Jackson Hole will be attending school virtually Friday. District Communications and Media Relations Specialist Charlotte Reynolds explained that given the weather forecast, road advisory and the number of staff who live outside of the county, the district decided to schedule a virtual day in lieu of in-person classes.

Reynolds explained that by doing so, the district did not run the risk of having to call a snow-day, which unlike a virtual day would not count as a school day and would have to be made up in the spring.

Students returned from school Thursday with their iPads or laptops and home-based assignments. Teachers will be available virtually via Zoom from 9:00 am until noon, and students can find virtual meeting links on their Canvas course homepages.
