Malo wins Sled Dog race again!

The 27th Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race through Western Wyoming came to a dramatic conclusion in Driggs, Idaho Saturday. Although Lina Streeper who posted the fastest time for the day, finishing in less than two hours, Anny Malo from St-Zenon, Quebec took first place overall for the fourth consecutive year.

Malo said, “ Woo-hoo! I’m happy.”

She should be as she became the first person ever to win four races in a row.

Third place and “Rookie of the Year” was Cathy Rivest who ran the powerful Rivest-Malo B team with surprising competence and assurance.

The winners were each handed their winnings in the form of checks: $10,000 for Anny Malo, $9,000 for Lina Streeper and $8,000 for Cathy Rivest.

Dave Torgerson in fourth place received $7,000. Farther down in the pack many teams finished within a minute or two of each other making this year’s race a tight and exciting one.
