The south side of Jackson will be a-buzz with activity beginning tomorrow – quite literally. It is the 45th annual Snow King Hill Climb which runs Thursday through Sunday, with Non-Pro Masters, Amateurs, Semi-Pro, Women, and Juniors starting the competition off at 9:30 am. With the changes recently at the mountain, there will also be some changes to the hill climb.
This year riders will be taking on a whole new aspect of the hill and attempting to climb the new run Wolverine to the summit of Snow King Mountain. About 20 members of the Jackson Hole Snow Devils started a much smaller hill climb event in 1975, which has since grown into a World Championship.
The four-day event now draws over 10,000 fans, and more than 300 snowmobile hill climb racers from all over the US and Canada. Those attending are asked not to bring dogs to the event and purchase any alcoholic beverages on site only.
