Teton County informs on cybersecurity

Teton County Emergency Preparedness is turning its focus for April on cybersecurity. Cybersecurity is a serious concern that should be on the minds of almost every resident. The FBI’s internet crime complaint center has documented losses exceeding $6.9-billion dollars from cybercrime in 2021 alone.

Email is the most common method used. Always verify the sender of an email. Criminals will sometimes change just one letter in an email address to make it look like one you know or being from an official source.

Also, be wary of attachments or links. For more information on cybersecurity Teton County residents are encouraged to check out the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s “STOP. THINK. CONNECT” campaign at cisa.gov/stopthinkconnect
