The Teton County Democratic Party has publicized a rally by a group of Jackson Hole High School students against our country’s rapidly increasing mass shootings. The rally will be today at 6:00 pm on the Jackson Town Square. Last week, 19 elementary-age students and two teachers were killed in Uvalde, Texas.
These concerned students say this needs to end now. The rally coincides with the regular Jackson Town Council meeting, as the organizers believe it is necessary to voice their perspective as Jackson Hole students. At that town meeting,
Mayor Hailey Morton Levinson will read a Proclamation about National Gun Violence Awareness Day focusing on our countries gun violence epidemic. The proclamation encourages everyone to commit to, “Reduce gun violence and utilize ways that other countries have successfully met this challenge.”
