Bad campers damage Wyoming forest site

The Jackson Ranger District recently happened upon one of the more egregious examples of a public land user disregarding the regulations and damaging the resources in the Hoback area.

A campsite was discovered consisting of couches, outdoor grills, and other items and trash. The campers had also damaged the surrounding area by creating a road to access the site.

Forest officials estimate that to clean this site up and begin the repair processes will cost the Jackson Ranger District thousands of dollars and over 100 man-hours that might have otherwise been used for other purposes.

Forest officials are asking that anyone with information regarding the creation of this abused site to notify them, and if someone knows they were involved in its creation, they are strongly encouraged to clean it up.
