Yellowstone National Park has upgraded the fire danger classification to high, following the earlier upgrade of the fire danger in Grand Teton National Park to the south a week ago. Currently, there are no active wildland fires in the park and there are no fire restrictions in place or planned in the park.
Campfires are only permitted within established fire rings in campgrounds and some backcountry campsites, and campfires must always be attended and cold to the touch before abandoning them. A small, one-acre wildfire was staffed and contained in Grand Teton National Park Tuesday near Huckleberry Ridge. That fire was lightning-caused.
