The Town of Jackson will be plowing alleys this winter. At Monday night’s town council meeting, Vice-Mayor Hailey Morton Levinson explained that the council had received a large amount of public comment on the subject.
Budget constraints at the town, partially resulting from the failure of a proposed tax increase, had led to a discussion that some town services would have to be cut. Morton-Levinson explained that the public works department had been able to assure the town that alleyway plowing will take place this winter
Johnny Ziem from the public works department told the council, “We feel like we have a good plan in place now.”
“We had to rearrange some pieces, but I think moving forward we’re able to accomplish the level of efficiency and effectiveness that’s expected of us, I think we’ll be able to accomplish all the plowing for the alleyways and the parking lots within the budget.”
