The Alpine Airpark board of directors and the Refuge Air Ranch on the Airpark are hosting a community event at the Alpine airport Saturday from noon until 3:00 pm to celebrate aviation as a form of recreation in the area, and to deliver a check for $207,730 to the City of Alpine. The money will be divided among local Emergency Medical Services, the Fire Department, the library, the new Alpine Hospital, and a new skating rink, all part of an ongoing effort by the airport community to support the town.
Families are encouraged to attend and enjoy the festivities near the entrance to the Refuge at the Alpine Airpark. There will be fire trucks, airplanes, treats for kids, and refreshments at the Halloween-themed event.
