A former Victor, Idaho resident has died when he and three companions were buried in an avalanche while they were snowmobiling in the area near Palisades Reservoir Friday evening. The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Tommy Hawkins – a graduate of Teton High School and current resident of Layton, Utah. According to reports from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, personnel from Bonneville and Teton Counties responded to the Cabin Creek area where three of the four snowmobilers were able to escape the slide, but were unable to revive Hawkins after digging him out. The slide occurred in an area called Snow Chute on the Idaho side of Palisade Reservoir. Hawkins leaves behind a wife and three children.
