An unidentified bicycle camper was attacked and killed by what is believed to have been a grizzly bear Tuesday morning just outside a central Montana community. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks biologists, conflict specialists and game wardens are currently searching for the bear.
Fish Wildlife and Parks spokesman Greg Lemon said a bear was seen on video cameras in the Ovando, Montana area Monday night and is suspected of raiding a chicken coop in town the same night the bicyclist was attacked. Details of the attack itself are unclear. Grizzly bears are common in the area 50 miles from Missoula.
