Grouse Meeting In Jackson November 22

November 16, 2024 by Jackson Hole Radio

The Upper Snake River Basin Local Sage Grouse Working Group will hold a meeting in Jackson on November 22 to discuss sage grouse conservation projects and monitoring plans for the area. The meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s Jackson Regional Office, located at 420 N. Cache St.

This working group, one of eight across Wyoming, is composed of community members representing a range of interests in sage grouse conservation and land management. The Wyoming Sage Grouse Conservation Fund, managed by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, provides funding for projects supporting sage grouse research and conservation, with grant applications currently being accepted for the Upper Snake River Basin area. Applications are due by January 1, 2025, and can be found on the Game and Fish Sage Grouse Local Working Groups webpage.

Those interested in applying for funding are encouraged to reach out to Nyssa Whitford, sage grouse biologist at Wyoming Game and Fish, at nyssa.whitford@wyo.gov, and Morgan Graham, chair of the local working group, at morgan@tetonconservation.org, for guidance.

The meeting is open to the public, and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department will make reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities upon request. For accessibility needs, call (307) 733-2321.
