Encouraging Wyomingites to spread kindness in their communities through helpful acts is the goal of the second annual Love Your Neighbor Challenge. The cherry on top is the $1,000 donation that will be made on behalf of the challenge winner to an organization of their choice from the Hughes Charitable Foundation.
This year, the Hughes Charitable Foundation is teaming up with the Wyoming Nonprofit Network (WNN) and the Wyoming Community Foundation (WYCF) to help reach an even larger community of kindness. From April 7th to 17th, 2023, participants are encouraged to share a photo and description of their acts of kindness along with the hashtag #HughesLYNC.
Celebrating the week that starts with Good Friday and runs through Orthodox Easter, the inaugural #HughesLYNC Challenge is celebrating the impacts that everyone can make on their community.“When we sit down to select a winner, we’ll be looking for people who made a genuine sacrifice of time or treasure, got outside of their comfort zone to show kindness, and made an effort to forge a new relationship with a person or organization,” says Molly Hughes, Executive Director of the Hughes Charitable Foundation.
Hughes added that she hopes to see participants of all ages get involved with the Challenge, whether on their own or alongside friends and family. All rules and procedures are listed in full on the Hughes Charitable Foundation website, as are all of the eligible nonprofits.
Simply perform your act of kindness — large or small — and share it on social media. The #HughesLYNC Challenge begins at midnight on Friday, April 7, 2023, and runs through 11:59 p.m. (Mountain Time) on April 17, 2023. The challenge winner and nonprofit recipient will be announced after April 18, 2023.
