Motorcyclist Fatally Injured in Highway 33 Collision

September 18, 2023 by Scott Anderson

A tragic accident took place on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at 7:55 PM on Idaho State Highway 33, near mile marker 100. Idaho State Police reports that a 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by a 61-year-old Saint Anthony man, was heading eastbound on SH-33 when a juvenile driving westbound turned south, cutting off the motorcycle’s path.

The motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the juvenile’s vehicle. Regrettably, the motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, was rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, he later passed away due to the injuries sustained.

The juvenile, who was wearing a seat-belt, thankfully did not sustain injuries severe enough to require transportation to the hospital.

The aftermath of the crash led to the road being blocked for an estimated 3 hours, allowing first responders to assist at the scene and manage the accident’s scene.

Idaho State Police are continuing their investigation into the factors leading up to the crash.
