Part of the Many Jackson Road Construction Projects
As part of the Jackson road construction efforts, he intersection of Pearl and Millward remains closed while the concrete cures in preparation for paving. Paving is scheduled for either Tuesday or Wednesday, with sidewalk work continuing at each corner. Residents and pedestrians should be mindful of wet concrete and rerouted pedestrian paths. The town aims to reopen the intersection by the end of the week for normal use.
After paving, crews will finish any remaining concrete work, which may require short-term closures. In addition, valve boxes and manholes in the roadway will be adjusted to fit the new pavement. Site cleanup and demobilization will take place as the project nears completion.
This week, construction crews focused on backfilling the water main, removing concrete and other materials, preparing the intersection for paving, and pouring curbs and gutters.
Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are encouraged to seek alternate routes during this time and to follow all posted signs regarding detours and parking restrictions for the safety of everyone involved.
All scheduling is subject to change based on weather, material availability, and sub-contractor coordination.
