Grand Teton National Park will conduct two minor road projects during the week of June 24, causing short delays and a temporary road closure. These projects aim to improve vehicular and cyclist safety.
The one-way Jenny Lake Scenic Drive will be temporarily closed to all traffic from June 24 to June 27 for pavement preservation and road striping operations. This closure includes the Jenny Lake Overlook and all other sections of the Scenic Drive. However, Jenny Lake Lodge, String and Leigh Lake Trailheads, and the Jenny Lake Visitor Center area will remain open. The hiking trail around Jenny Lake will also be accessible to the public. The schedule is dependent on dry weather, and closure dates may change.
In addition, travelers should anticipate 15-minute delays due to road striping operations on U.S. Highway 89, Teton Park Road from Moose to Jackson Lake Junction, the North Park Road from Moran to the South Entrance of Yellowstone National Park, and the Colter Bay Visitor Center area. Some operations will be conducted at night to minimize disruption.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead for delays, reduce speed in areas where roadwork occurs, and be aware that schedules may change without notice due to weather conditions or other factors.
