The Town of Jackson Police Department has announced that two roads will be temporarily closed to support the annual Shed Hunt event on April 30 through the early morning of May 1. This decision was made due to the considerable amount of snow still piled up at the fairgrounds and ongoing construction on Flat Creek Drive.
Flat Creek Drive has been closed since the start of the construction project aimed at updating infrastructure above and below ground. The project is expected to run through July 20. The Shed Hunt event, which attracts a large number of participants each year, requires additional road closures in the area.
The following streets will be closed early on Sunday, April 30 to allow for staging of the event: Snow King Avenue from Millward Street to Virginian Lane and Karns Meadow Drive from West Broadway Avenue to West Snow King Avenue.
During the event, there will be no access to drive through the fairgrounds. Participants and visitors are advised to use alternate routes and follow detours that will be clearly marked by the police department. Additionally, “No Parking” signs will be posted around East Jackson to prevent overnight campers from spending the night on the streets.
Registered Shed Hunt participants arriving early should check-in with the police department and plan to line-up on Snow King or Karns. The event will officially begin at 6:00 am on May 1, and participants are advised to arrive on time to avoid missing out on the fun.
The police department urges everyone to cooperate with the road closures and detours to ensure the safety of all involved. They apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank the community for their understanding and support.
