The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Special Weather Statement for lower elevations east of the Continental Divide and across southwest Wyoming. Rain is expected to transition into light snow late Thursday night or early Friday morning, with the possibility of up to 2 inches of snow accumulation, mainly on grassy surfaces. Isolated areas above 5,500 feet might see slightly higher amounts. Snowfall is likely to continue through Friday morning, tapering off by sunset.
Additionally, temperatures are predicted to drop significantly Friday night, with a Hard Freeze expected as lows fall into the lower to mid-20s by Saturday morning. Winds will be from the north at 15 to 30 mph.
