St. John’s Medical Center has received the highest rating available from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. CMS this week announced the update of its Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings, awarding only 293 of the over 4,500 hospitals nationwide their highest rating, Five Stars. St. John’s Medical Center is the only hospital in Wyoming to be recognized with those Five Stars. Furthermore, St. John’s has received this rating for five consecutive rating cycles now. St. John’s CEO, Dr. Paul Beaupré, notes that CMS has a complex and sometimes confusing system for evaluating and reimbursing providers for hospital quality, but he credits the local medical community for their contributions to make this achievement possible.
