A Jackson man was killed in a traffic accident Sunday when the car he was driving lost control on the snow and ice north of Afton and collided with an oncoming vehicle. 22-year-old John Koerber was traveling northbound on US 89 in his 2002 Ford Focus at about 1:10 pm when the he lost control of the vehicle and entered the southbound lane colliding with a 2007 GMC Sierra pulling an empty horse trailer. Koerber was wearing his seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. The driver of the 2007 GMC has been identified as 49-year-old Thayne, Wyoming resident Corey Christensen. Christensen was wearing his seatbelt and transported to the Star Valley Medical Center for injuries he sustained in the crash. A passenger in the truck has been identified as 48-year-old Thayne, Wyoming resident Maryanne Christensen. She was wearing her seatbelt and transported to the Star Valley Medical Center for injuries as well. Speed on the part of Keorber is being investigated as a possible contributing factor.
