Hughes Charitable Foundation Makes Huge Donation
Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area recently announced a significant milestone in its mission to provide safe, affordable housing to working families in need within the community. A $15 million challenge gift from the Hughes Charitable Foundation will assist the foundation’s commitment to combating housing shortages in the area.
The contribution comes after the Board of County Commissioners’ of Teton County approved of the Land Development Regulations for Northern South Park. Teton Habitat, through this support, aims to expand homeownership opportunities to those earning 30%-80% of the Area Median Income. About forty-three percent of families in Teton County could qualify for a Habitat home under these parameters.

Kris Greenville, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area, shared his appreciation for the Hughes Charitable Foundation’s support. He emphasized that this support would significantly boost Teton Habitat’s operations, allowing more families to achieve affordable homeownership.
The Hughes Charitable Foundation’s contribution marked continued philanthropy efforts in the county and also sets a compelling example for others. Their leadership in addressing the affordable housing crisis has already inspired additional support.
Patty Lummis, Habitat Director and Advancement Committee Chair, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the Foundation’s role in galvanizing community support towards creating a brighter future for families in the Greater Teton Area.
The Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area and its supporters, including the Hughes Charitable Foundation, are working diligently to ensure that every member of the community has access to a decent, affordable place to call home. This collaboration exemplifies the impact that generosity and collective action can have on addressing critical societal challenges.
