InterConnections 21 and the Jackson Hole High School UN Club led a team of 21 students from Jackson Hole High School, Jackson Hole Community School, and Mountain Academy to the University of Toronto Model United Nations conference in Toronto earlier this month – and made quite an impression. Students had developed their M-UN skills at the annual Teton County Model UN conference organized here every November. Several seasoned M-UN veterans and a large number of underclassmen participated in the three-day conference among 500 students from 25 schools across Canada and the U.S. While the spirit of Model UN aligns with collaborative diplomacy rather than competition, each committee chair chooses awards for best position papers submitted by delegates prior to the conference, and the top performances during committee sessions. The Jackson delegation emerged as the third most-awarded large delegation at the conference. This marks the club’s third international Model UN trip in four years.
